Pain Medication Dosing

Pain Medication Dosing Age 0 to 4-6 Months Old

Children’s Tylenol Dosing:

Pain-relieving medication such as Tylenol (acetaminophen) or the equivalent can be given every 4 hours as needed.

(Maximum of 4 doses in a 24-hour period, no ibuprofen prior to 4 months old).

Pain Medication Dosing 4-6 Months of Age and Older

CHILDREN’S Acetaminophen 160mg/5ml & *CHILDREN’S Ibuprofen 100MG/5ml

Tylenol (acetaminophen) & Advil (Ibuprofen) can be given by alternating the medications every three hours, therefore giving each one every four hours. You may administer up to 4 doses of Tylenol and 4 doses of Advil in 24 hours; do not exceed this limit.
